Puresci is an excellent supplier of products and solutions in global air handling area. This article will introduce some notes on the daily use and routine maintenance of the rotors, as well as methods to clean them.

During the first year of service, a new rotor will require several periodic maintenances. After the initial use and one week , it is necessary to confirm whether the seal and driver of the rotor are intact or not, whether the rotor is cracked. After the first year, check the seal and driver to ensure they are in good condition at the frequency of once a year.

In the daily use of the rotor, the ambient temperature needs to be strictly controlled. It is also necessary to pay attention to alkaline gas and volatile organic substances, they can influence rotor’s lifespan.

If dirt or dust accumulation is detected in the rotor, it can be cleaned by high-pressure air.

1. Use a standard commercial vacuum and slowly turn the wheel to remove debris from the rotor. It is important to prevent its surface from being damaged by excessive vacuum cleaner nozzle pressure.

2. Use a small air nozzle to blow air into one side of the rotor, and use a vacuum cleaner to collect the blown debris on the opposite side.

3. If the rotor is covered by aerosol, smoke or other materials, it can be cleaned with water or mild detergent in the air handling unit. Prepare to collect the water that runs off the bottom.

There are a few other things to keep in mind during cleaning.

      Cut off all power

Cover or remove all electronic components and bearings to keep the wires and capacitors from getting wet.

When the rotor gets dry after cleaning, its performance will temporarily drop. If you need to speed up the drying process, the regeneration preheat should be activated if provided.
